Career Development
Volunteer Work
I have volunteered in many places, and it has greatly help my career development.
Wade Park Veterans Hospital
With my church youth group, I have helped serve lunch and call bingo at the Wade Park veterans hospital. We do this every other month with the American Legion post 751, and are usually working for about 4 to 5 hours. It is really a great experience to be able to talk to these men and women who have served our country, and learn about their time in the military. We also collect small toiletries and blankets to bring to give to them.

Pinewood Derby and Potluck
|
Every 5th Sunday, our church has a potluck lunch. The youth group usually does setup and cleanup. Once a year on a 5th Sunday, our youth group hosts a pinewood derby. Every participant makes a small car and races them down a track.

Spaghetti Dinner
Once a year, the youth group will host a spaghetti dinner for a fundraiser. We prepare and serve the food, setup, and cleanup. This usually helps us raise a lot of money toward the church and other activities.

Vacation Bible School
|
Every summer we have a Vacation Bible School. We creat a float of the theme for the 4th of July parade which takes around a few weeks to make.
During VBS we teach children ages 2-12 lessons from the Bible, songs, and dances. We then put on a performance the Sunday after to show the parents and the church what they learned throughout the week. |
Buckeye Girls State
For one week in June, I stayed at Mount Union College to attend Buckeye Girls State (BGS). During my time here, I learned what it is like to work in a government position. My specific job, was the city historian. While there were many long and stressful nights, it was a great opportunity to learn just how important government jobs are. Especially the small ones like mine.
