Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps
Promotions
|
We have a promotion test every 9 weeks. We then have a awards and promotions ceremony after the first semester. We get ribbons that were earned during the first semester and receive a higher rank if the promotion test is passed. If the test is not passed based on the requirements, the cadet will stay the rank that they currently are.
I am currently a Cadet Senior Airman (c/SrA). I also have received many ribbons including 1 Dress and Appearance, 3 Good Conducts, 3 Health and Wellness’, 2 Longevity, and 1 Siver Star Community Service. Each of these ribbons mean: Dress and Appearance- miss no uniform days and receive at least a 30% grade on uniform wear Good Conduct- no negative reports from staff Health and Wellness- successfully completed physical training Longevty- receiving a passing grade throughout the year Silver Star Community Service- ranking in the top 5% of all AFJROTC units |

Cadet Job
Last year and the beginning of this year, I was in recycling. This group collected recyclable materials to properly dispose of. During the 2nd Nine Weeks, I was switched over to Community Service
Recycling
Every Tuesday for an hour, we have cadet job time. My cadet job at the beginning of the year was recycling. My job was to go to every class on the top floor and collect recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, cans, and plastic. We then weight everything we received, and put it into a log sheet to keep track of how much we collect. We have a new goal for how much we recycle each year. This year, our recycling goal is to collect 3,250 lbs of recyclable items.
We also keep the outdoor recycling area clean. Many people will come to our recycling bins to put their recyclable items in them. Sometimes the items will fall out of the bins or fall when someone puts something in the bin. We look for any of these items and put them back in the bin to keep a clean and healthy environment. |

Community Service
In Community service, we come up with events that earn community service hours and log them into our system. These community service events help not only my lab itself, but the students who are looking for employment or are attempting to receive scholarships and get accepted into college.
